GMA launches local news channel

The past week marked the pilot airing of GMA Network's local news and public affairs channel - GMA News TV on channel 11. And yes, this is still on free TV.

From the critically acclaimed news team of GMA7 comes round-the-clock information on the latest news in and out the country.

Start the day with a live video streaming of Mike Enriquez' DZBB (radio) program on "Dobol B sa TV" (6:00 to 9:00 AM, weekdays). If that still doesn't satiate your early morning cravings for relevant news, tune in to "News to Go" with Howie Severino and Kara David at 9. Ivan Mayrina and Connie Sison host the 4 PM public affairs show "On Call". Fill your weeknights with interesting in-depth reports and opinions with "State of the Nation," anchored by Jessica Soho, 9PM.

For your weekend viewing, tune in to Arnold Clavio's "Balita Pilipinas" (Saturdays, 8:45 PM) and Vicky Morales' "Good News" (Sundays, 8:45 PM).

GMA 7 gives us more of what its best at - award-winning documentaries and news magazine shows - with "Brigada", "Investigative Documentaries", "Bawal ang Pasaway kay Mareng Winnie", "Best Men", "Front Row", "Reel Time", and a newscast and political satire show "May Tamang Balita" with Ramon Bautista.

Still with a touch of its old format, GMA News TV's programming includes lifestyle and talk shows such as "The Smiths" - a peek on the lives of King of Pinoy Rock Pepe Smith and his kids. (A local take on The Osbournes perhaps?)
